Young Vocal Artist Competition
The Young Vocal Artists Competition has undergone several
significant changes in 2016. Most importantly, YVAC is now a
jointly sponsored event by DCU and the music department of
Black Hills State University. The new committee board consists
of Dr. Charles Canaan, Dr. Jonathan Nero, Nancy Roberts, Paul
Robinson and Ken Dewell. YVAC gives talented young vocalists
an opportunity to compete, receive independent workshop
guidance and monetary prizes. The committee’s goal is to work
hard to keep this valuable venture strong and healthy for
years to come.
In addition to the cash awards, BHSU will offer music
scholarships for the winners. The top three contestants will
perform at the DCU spring concert.
